Ram Eye Press was set up in November 2021 by Alex Bestwick whilst he was studying for an MA in Publishing and Creative Writing at York St John University. Alex loves horror fiction, particularly the works of authors such as Lucie McKnight Hardy, Naomi Booth, and Eric LaRocca. With Ram Eye, he wanted to create a place where great horror work could thrive.

The first issue of the Ram Eye magazine was released on the 1st of April 2022. Middle of Nowhere was themed around countryside horror, and the seventeen contributors explored this theme from all directions, from the slow decay of self to the transformative power of nature.
